Failed UGC NET 2024? Best Options for Candidates Who Didn't Crack NET or JRF

The National Testing Agency (NTA) announced the results for the UGC NET 2024 exam on October 17, 2024, after it was held between August 21 and September 4, 2024. A total of 4,970 candidates qualified for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), 53,694 for Assistant Professor roles, and 1,12,070 for PhD admissions.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) officially released the results for the UGC NET 2024 examination on October 17, 2024. Aspirants who had appeared for the exam, conducted from August 21 to September 4, 2024, in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode, were eagerly awaiting the announcement.

According to the data shared by NTA, a total of 4,970 candidates have qualified for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), 53,694 for Assistant Professor only, and 1,12,070 for PhD admissions only. However, for those who didn't make the cut, there are still several viable options to pursue their academic and career goals.

1. State Level Eligibility Tests (SLET)

  • Eligibility: Candidates who have not qualified for NET can attempt SLET exams conducted by individual states.
  • Benefits: SLET qualification often grants eligibility for lectureship positions in state universities and colleges.

2. Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET)
  • Eligibility: CTET is primarily for candidates aspiring to teach in primary and upper primary schools.
  • Benefits: Qualifying CTET can open doors to teaching positions in government and private schools across India.

3. Private Universities and Colleges

  • Opportunities: Many private institutions offer teaching positions without requiring NET or JRF qualifications.
