The Directorate of Education, Delhi, has announced key updates for nursery, kindergarten (KG), and Class 1 admissions for the academic year 2025-26 in private schools. The first merit list, issued on 17 January 2025, is available for parents to check at their respective schools.
A total of 1,741 schools have released their merit lists, along with waiting lists. For example, Delhi Public School, East of Kailash, has shortlisted 108 students, with an additional 245 on the waiting list. Similarly, Vikas Bharati Public School, Vasant Kunj, has selected 140 students and added 20 to the waiting list.
To address queries or concerns regarding the first merit list, the Directorate of Education has opened a query resolution window starting today, 18 January 2025. This window will remain open until 27 January 2025. Parents and guardians can use this time to resolve allotment-related issues directly with the schools.
If necessary, a second merit list will be released on 3 February 2025. After the release of this list, another query resolution window will be available from 5 to 11 February 2025.
Important Dates for Delhi Nursery Admissions 2025-26
3 January 2025 - Deadline for uploading application details for open seats.
17 January 2025 - Release of the first merit list.
18-27 January 2025 - Query resolution period for the first merit list.
3 February 2025 - Release of the second merit list (if required).
5-11 February 2025 - Query resolution period for the second merit list.
Age Relaxation Policy for Admissions
Schools may grant an age relaxation of up to 30 days for children who fall slightly outside the specified age limits for their class. Parents seeking this relaxation must contact the school principal directly and submit a manual application for consideration.
