The admission process for nursery, kindergarten (KG), and first class in Sarvodaya Vidyalayas for the academic session 2025-26 began on Friday, March 1, 2025. The process, which will continue until March 15, is open exclusively to residents of Delhi. Parents seeking admission for their children are required to submit essential documents, including a residence certificate, birth certificate, and caste certificate.

The Directorate of Education (DoE) has issued detailed guidelines to school principals to ensure a smooth and transparent admission process. Parents can obtain application forms from the school principal during school hours or from the school security guard. Additionally, parents are encouraged to contact the school principal for any admission-related queries.

Key Dates and Process

The DoE has outlined a structured timeline for the admission process:

  • March 15: Last date for submission of application forms.
  • March 18: Schools will display a list of applications with errors on their notice boards. Parents can visit the school on March 18 and 19 to correct any mistakes.
  • March 20: A computerized draw will be conducted for admissions.
  • March 21: The list of selected students will be displayed on school notice boards.

For private schools in the capital, the application process for Economically Backward Classes (EWS), Disadvantaged Group (DG), and Divyang Category (CWSN) students in nursery, KG, and Class 1 has already concluded. A computerized draw for these categories will be held on March 5.

The Directorate of Education has emphasized that the admission process is entirely computerized and transparent. Parents have been advised to avoid falling prey to brokers or individuals claiming to influence the admission process. The DoE has warned against fraudulent practices and urged parents to report any suspicious calls or offers.

Allotment and Communication

Once the draw is completed, the DoE will allocate schools to the selected students. Parents will be informed about the allotment through SMS. The Directorate has assured that the process is designed to ensure fairness and equal opportunity for all applicants.

Parents are advised to adhere to the specified dates and guidelines to avoid any last-minute complications. For further details, they can visit the official website of the Directorate of Education or contact the respective school authorities.
