The Delhi Police has announced a merit-based examination system for the appointment of Station House Officers (SHOs), marking a significant departure from the traditional seniority-based approach. This initiative aims to enhance transparency, efficiency, and professionalism in the selection process, ensuring that the most qualified officers lead police stations across the capital.
The first batch of SHOs selected through this new system will be appointed to Cyber Police Stations, which are at the forefront of handling the rising threat of digital crimes in Delhi. With cybercrime becoming increasingly sophisticated, the need for skilled and knowledgeable officers in this domain has never been more critical.
As per the reports, a total of 122 police inspectors have applied for just 15 coveted Cyber SHO positions, making the selection process highly competitive.
