The Delhi High Court is set to deliver its decision today regarding the revision of the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2025 results, following allegations of errors in the final answer key. The hearing comes after the court's earlier intervention, which identified discrepancies in the evaluation process and directed the Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) to rectify the mistakes.
The CLAT 2025 exam, conducted on December 1, saw its results declared on December 7. However, the results were soon challenged in court due to alleged errors in the final answer key. On December 20, the Delhi High Court ruled in favour of revising the results, citing specific mistakes in two questions—14 and 100—in Set A of the exam. The court emphasised that ignoring these errors would lead to injustice. Consequently, the answer to question 14 was updated to option C, while question 100 was entirely withdrawn.
The petitioner, Aditya Singh, has contested the court’s partial acceptance of his objections. While the single-judge bench upheld his claims regarding questions 14 and 100, it dismissed his objections to questions 37, 67, and 68 in Set A. Singh has argued that these questions also contain errors and is seeking further revision of the final answer key and CLAT 2025 results.
In response, the Consortium of NLUs has maintained that the final answer key was thoroughly reviewed by experts before its release. However, following the High Court’s December 24 ruling, the Consortium announced its intention to challenge the decision in the Supreme Court, further complicating the legal proceedings.
The ongoing litigation has also impacted the CLAT 2025 counselling process. The Consortium has postponed the release of the first admission list, which was initially scheduled for December 26. The counselling schedule for both undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) programs will now be announced only after the Delhi High Court’s decision on the result revision.
