The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) is all set to close the online application portal for the Secondary Teacher Eligibility Test (STET) 2025 today, October 5, 2025. This is the final opportunity for all teaching aspirants to register for the examination, which is a mandatory gateway to a teaching career in government secondary and higher secondary schools across the state.

Aspiring candidates who have not yet applied must immediately visit the official website secondary.biharboardonline.com and to complete their registration before the deadline.

Qualifying the STET 2025 will make candidates eligible to apply for the fourth round of teacher recruitment conducted by the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC TRE-4), which is scheduled for December 2025. This creates a direct and swift pathway to secure a teaching position.

How to apply for Bihar STET 2025?

With time running out, follow these steps carefully to complete your application:

Step 1. Go to the official website at secondary.biharboardonline.com.
Step 2. Click on the "Bihar STET 2025 Application" link. You will need to register by providing basic details like your name, mobile number, and email ID to generate a registration number and password.
Step 3. Use your credentials to log into the application portal. Carefully fill in all required details in the application form, including personal information, academic qualifications, and your choice of paper and subject.
Step 4. Scan and upload the necessary documents in the prescribed format and size.
Step 5. Proceed to the payment gateway and pay the required application fee based on your category and the number of papers you are applying for. You can use debit/credit cards, net banking, or other UPI methods.
Step 6. Double-check all the entered information for any errors. Once confirmed, submit the final application form.
Step 7. Download the confirmation page or the completed application form for your future records and reference.

Eligibility and Application Fee

The upper age limit for applicants is set at 37 years. However, the board provides an age relaxation of 3 years for female, Backward Class (BC), and Most Backward Class (MBC) candidates.

The application fee structure is as follows:

For One Paper:

General/BC/EWS: Rs 960

SC/ST/PH: Rs 760

For Both Papers:

General/BC/EWS: Rs 1440

SC/ST/PH: Rs 1140

Bihar STET 2025 Exam Pattern

The Bihar STET 2025 will be conducted as a Computer-Based Test (CBT) with a duration of 2.5 hours for each paper.

Paper-1 (Secondary): Based on the syllabus for classes 9-10.

Paper-2 (Higher Secondary): Based on the syllabus for classes 11-12.

Each paper will consist of 150 questions, divided into two sections:

Subject-Specific Knowledge: 100 questions.

Teaching Art & Other Competencies: 50 questions.
