The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) has confirmed that the Secondary Teacher Eligibility Test (STET) 2025 will be held as per the original schedule, starting October 14, 2025. The board has urged over five lakh aspirants to ignore unverified reports suggesting a postponement.
The confirmation from BSEB comes as a major relief to candidates who were thrown into a state of uncertainty after several unofficial websites and social media channels began circulating speculation about a potential delay. The confusion was primarily fueled by two key factors: the recent postponement of the Bihar Public Service Commission's (BPSC) Teacher Recruitment Exam (TRE 3.0) and the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections.
The rumours started as candidates drew parallels between the delayed BPSC TRE exam and the STET schedule. This speculation was further amplified by the political calendar, with the Bihar Assembly elections scheduled for November 6 and 11, 2025. Many assumed that the exam might be rescheduled to avoid a clash with the election process.
However, the BSEB has put all doubts to rest. In a firm statement, the board referenced its official notification published on October 1, 2025.
In a post on the social media platform 'X' (formerly Twitter), the board stated, "The Bihar School Examination Board published a Notification on October 1, 2025, in various newspapers, according to which the Secondary Teacher Eligibility Test (STET), 2025 is scheduled to be held from October 14, 2025. There is no change in the said date."
The immediate clarification from the board was met with a wave of relief from the vast candidate community. Many took to social media to express their gratitude for the timely announcement.
In light of the incident, the Bihar School Examination Board has reiterated a crucial advisory for all candidates. Aspirants are strongly advised to rely only on official communication channels for any updates regarding the STET 2025 examination. These include:
The STET 2025 is an important examination for teacher recruitment in the state and is expected to be conducted in multiple shifts for both secondary and higher secondary level subjects from October 14 onwards. With the dates now firmly confirmed, candidates can continue their preparation with a clear and focused mind.
