With thousands of candidates appearing, the Board has issued a detailed set of guidelines to ensure a smooth and fair examination process. Here are the 10 essential rules every candidate must know:

1. Strict Gate Closure Policy
Candidates must report to the examination center well in advance. The entry gate will be closed 30 minutes before the exam's scheduled start time. No candidate will be permitted entry after this deadline under any circumstances.

2. Dress Code and Footwear Restrictions
In a significant directive, wearing shoes is strictly prohibited inside the examination hall. Candidates must wear open footwear like slippers or chappals.

3. Biometric Verification Readiness
For a seamless biometric verification process, candidates must ensure their fingers are free of any henna, nail polish, or ink stains. Any obstruction could lead to delays or complications during the mandatory identity check.

4. Mandatory Documents to Carry
Candidates must bring the following items:

  • A printout of the e-admit card with a recent color photograph pasted on it. This photo must match the one uploaded in the application form.
  • An original, government-issued photo ID proof for verification (Aadhaar Card, Voter ID, Driving License, Passport, or Bank Passbook).
  • Photocopies of both the admit card and the ID proof. The original admit card will be collected at the center.

5. Prohibited Items
Candidates are strictly forbidden from carrying any electronic devices, including mobile phones, Bluetooth earphones, pagers, calculators, or any other gadget. Bringing books, notes, or bags into the exam hall is also not allowed.

6. Essential Stationery
While the exam is computer-based, candidates should carry a blue/black ballpoint pen and a pencil for any necessary rough work or documentation.

7. Exam Day Log-in Procedure
The test will be conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode. Candidates will be provided with a unique username and password 10 minutes before the examination begins to log in to their system.

8. Qualifying Marks
To pass the entrance exam, candidates must secure the minimum qualifying marks: 35% for the Unreserved category and 30% for candidates belonging to Reserved categories.

9. Exam Pattern and Syllabus
The question paper will be of 120 marks, containing 120 multiple-choice questions (MCQs). Each question will carry one mark. The syllabus is divided into five sections:

  • Hindi/Urdu Language: 25 questions
  • General Knowledge: 25 questions
  • Mental Ability: 20 questions
  • Science/Mathematics: 20 questions
  • Social Science: 20 questions
10. Admission and Future Prospects
Admission to DElEd institutes will be based on a merit-cum-choice (counseling) system following the declaration of results. A separate merit list will be issued by the Bihar Board. Successfully obtaining the DElEd diploma will make candidates eligible to apply for primary teacher recruitment (Classes 1 to 5) and upper primary teacher recruitment (Classes 6 to 8) in Bihar, subject to also clearing the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET).

Candidates are advised to double-check their exam center and shift timing on their admit card and plan their journey accordingly to avoid any last-minute rush.
