Assam Board Exam Date Sheet 2026

The Assam Chief Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma has officially revealed the commencement dates for the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) and Higher Secondary (HS) final examinations for the academic year 2025-26.

The Chief Minister took to the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to share the update, providing students with a clear timeline to structure their preparation. According to the announcement, the Assam HSLC Examination 2026 will begin on February 10, 2026, followed closely by the Assam HS Examination 2026 starting on February 11, 2026.

While the broad schedule is now public, the Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA) and the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) have not yet released the detailed date sheets or subject-wise timetables for the respective Class 10 and Class 12 exams.

In his post, CM Sarma stated, "Important Examination Update- The HSLC (Matriculation) Examination 2026 will commence from 10 February 2026. The Higher Secondary Final Examination 2026 will begin on 11 February 2026. Wishing every student the very best for their upcoming examinations."

Alongside the exam dates, a critical update has been provided for HSLC candidates. SEBA has reopened the registration portal for a limited period. The window, which began on November 17, 2025, will remain active until November 20, 2025. The final deadline for fee submission is November 21, 2025.

However, this extended facility comes with specific conditions:

  • Students registering during this period will be considered under the APL (Above Poverty Line) category only.
  • School heads have been instructed to ensure that all candidate bank details are updated on the portal.
  • It is important to note that the form-filling window for Class 12 (HS) has officially concluded.

Passing Marks for Assam Board Exams 2026

For students to successfully clear the board examinations, understanding the minimum passing criteria is essential. The boards have set a clear benchmark for both HSLC and HS levels.

For Assam HSLC (Class 10) Exam:

  • Students must secure a minimum of 30% marks in each individual subject.
  • An overall aggregate of 30% is mandatory to pass the examination.
  • In subjects with practical components, candidates must pass the theory and practical sections separately by securing at least 30% in each.

For Assam HS (Class 12) Exam:
  • Similar to Class 10, candidates need to score a minimum of 30% in the theory examination for each subject.
  • A minimum of 30% in the practical examination (where applicable) is required.
  • Furthermore, students must achieve an aggregate of 30% in every subject, combining theory and practical marks, while ensuring they have cleared both components individually.
Next Steps for Students and Schools

With the exam dates now confirmed over a year in advance, students are advised to begin their preparation in a structured and consistent manner. Schools are directed to complete any pending formalities for HSLC candidates via the official SEBA website before the November 20, 2025, deadline.

Students should regularly check the official websites of SEBA (sebaonline.org) and AHSEC (ahsec.nic.in) for further updates and admit card information.
