Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) has announced the postponement of the second phase of written examinations for the odd semester of the 2024-25 academic session. The exams, originally scheduled to commence on February 18, 2025, will now begin on February 28, 2025. The decision comes in light of the Mahakumbh Mela and Mahashivratri festivities, which are expected to cause significant disruptions in traffic and road closures across Prayagraj and Varanasi districts.

In an official notification dated February 11, 2025, the university cited requests from affiliated institutions, highlighting the challenges students would face in reaching examination centers during this period. The revised schedule will now see the written examinations conducted between February 28, 2025, and March 22, 2025. The practical and project examinations, however, will proceed as planned from February 20 to February 27, 2025.

The university has assured that the duty list for examiners overseeing practical and project examinations will be uploaded to the ERP login portals of institutions and concerned faculty members in a timely manner. Students and faculty are advised to stay updated through official university channels.

AKTU has urged all affiliated institutions to promptly inform their students about the revised schedule and make necessary arrangements to ensure a smooth examination process. The university emphasized that the decision was made to minimize inconvenience to students while maintaining the integrity of the examination process.

This postponement affects both undergraduate and postgraduate students, including those with carry-over subjects. The university has attached a detailed annexure with the revised timetable for reference.

As the region prepares for the grand Mahakumbh Mela and the celebration of Mahashivratri, AKTU’s decision reflects its commitment to accommodating the logistical challenges posed by these large-scale events. Students are advised to utilize the additional time effectively and prepare diligently for their upcoming examinations.

For further updates, students and institutions are encouraged to regularly check AKTU’s official website and ERP portal.
