A wedding celebration in Bihar’s Bodh Gaya turned into chaos after a dispute broke out between the bride’s and groom’s families over a shortage of rasgullas. The guests from both sides got into a physical fight which was recorded on camera and has gone viral on social media since then.

The incident took place at a local hotel on November 29, where the bride’s family had been staying. The groom and his relatives had arrived from a nearby village for the ceremony. After the wedding rituals were completed, members of the bride’s family allegedly complained that there were not enough rasgullas served to guests. This small issue soon escalated into a large argument.

CCTV footage from the hotel showed several people pushing each other, throwing punches, and using nearby objects such as chairs and plates as weapons. In one such moment, red plastic chairs were lifted and swung at others. Many guests from both families suffered injuries during the clash, NDTV reported.

The couple was on their way to the wedding hall for further ceremonies when the violence broke out, forcing the event to be called off.

Later, the bride’s family filed a dowry complaint against the groom’s side. However, the groom’s father, Mahendra Prasad, denied the allegations and claimed the entire fight happened only because of the sweet shortage. He accused the bride’s family of filing a false case after the wedding was cancelled.

The groom’s mother, Munni Devi, also made serious claims. She alleged that during the chaos, the bride’s family took away jewellery that she had brought to gift her new daughter-in-law. She added that the hotel arrangements had been made and paid for by the groom’s family.

"We tried to negotiate with the bride's family that the wedding should go ahead. But it did not work out," the groom's cousin Sushil Kumar was quoted by NDTV as saying.
