In a major rejig, the Telangana government on Saturday appointed senior IPS officer VC Sajjanar as the new Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad.
Sajjanar, who is currently posted as Managing Director of the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC), replaces incumbent CV Anand, who has been appointed Special Chief Secretary (Home Department).
The state government on Friday transferred 23 senior IPS officers, including 1997-batch officer Vijay Kumar as the new intelligence chief, according to a report by The Times of India.
The order came hours after the government appointed B. Shivadhar Reddy as the next in-charge Director General of Police (DGP) for Telangana.
On the IAS front, Syed Ali Murtaza Rizvi (1999 batch), Principal Secretary in the Commercial Taxes & Excise Department, has been given additional charge as Principal Secretary to Government (Poll), General Administration Department, replacing M Raghunandan Rao (2002 batch).
Raghunandan Rao, currently Agriculture & Co-operation Secretary, has been transferred as Commissioner of Commercial Taxes and holds additional charge as Commissioner of Transport, succeeding K Haritha (2013 batch) and K. Surendra Mohan (2006 batch), respectively.
