Speeding Thar rams pedestrians in Delhi's Chanakyapuri; kills one, leaves another injured

One man was killed and another suffered injuries after a speeding Thar rammed into them on 11 Murti Road in Delhi’s Chanakyapuri on Sunday morning, News18 reported.

As per the report, the accident occurred just two kilometres from Rashtrapati Bhavan, and the body remained on the road for several hours before police reached the spot and removed it from the scene. The 26-year-old driver has been detained by police following the accident.

A video shared by news agency ANI shows the forensic team at the scene collecting evidence, with a liquor bottle also visible in the footage.

The video shows visible damage on the front left side of the Thar, with the fender noticeably dented. The hood appears slightly misaligned with minor visible marks, the report added.

A forensic expert is seen examining the vehicle, focusing on the damaged area, while a police officer stands nearby, indicating the ongoing investigation.
