Red alert declared in Uttar Pradesh, DGP says UP Police 'fully prepared'

Uttar Pradesh government has issued a red alert across the state in the wake of the strikes on terror camps in Pakistan and PoK conducted by the Indian armed forces.

UP Police have been directed to coordinate with defence units and bolster security at vital installations. Director General of Police (DGP) Prashant Kumar wrote on X: "Red Alert declared in Uttar Pradesh following #OperationSindoor - the Indian Army’s targeted strike on terror hideouts."

"All UP Police field formations have been instructed to coordinate with defence units and strengthen the security of vital installations," he added.

The top cop also said that the UP Police remains alert, equipped and fully prepared to ensure the safety of every citizen.
