A 25-year-old IT professional’s suicide in Pune’s Hinjawadi area has left the city shaken, with chilling CCTV footage emerging of her final moments before she jumped from the 21st floor of a residential building.
The deceased, identified as Abhilasha Bhausaheb Kothimbhire, took her life in the early hours of May 31 at Crown Green Society, where her friend resided. Police registered an accidental death report on Wednesday night and are investigating the circumstances leading to the tragedy.
According to FPJ, CCTV footage shows Abhilasha entering the building around 4.30 am on a two-wheeler, her face partially covered with a scarf. She took the lift to the 21st floor and, minutes later at approximately 4.42 am, jumped from the high-rise. Her body was later identified through her parked vehicle.
A suicide note found at the scene read, “I'm done living. I don't want to live anymore.” The note, TOI reported, also included an apology to her parents and friends for taking the extreme step, as confirmed by Pimpri Chinchwad police officials.
As per FPJ, disturbing details emerged during the investigation. Abhilasha’s friend, with whom she had been staying, told police she last saw her in the room at 1 am. Bloodstains were later discovered on the bathroom wall, bed and a napkin, though these were initially overlooked. When Abhilasha failed to return by 10 am, her friend tried calling her, only to find her phone switched off. Police soon informed her of the death.
Authorities have seized the blood-stained items and her mobile phone for further examination. While no external foul play is suspected, investigators are piecing together the events that led to her drastic decision.
