Bihar is all set to welcome another Amrit Bharat Express train, which will become the 11th train of this modern fleet to either originate from or pass through the state, The Indian Express reported.
The addition of this train aims to further enhance rail connectivity across Bihar, just ahead of the assembly elections scheduled later this year. Currently, there are 11 Amrit Bharat Express trains operating on the Indian railway network, with 10 of them connected to Bihar.
These trains are designed to offer a travel experience similar to the premium Vande Bharat Express, but are specifically designed to provide affordable and high-quality service for passengers from lower and lower-middle income category.
New train to connect Bihar and Rajasthan
The upcoming Amrit Bharat Express will connect Bihar with Rajasthan, running between Darbhanga in Bihar and Madar Junction (Ajmer) in Rajasthan. Initially, the Ministry of Railways plans to operate the train on a weekly schedule, ensuring accessibility for passengers traveling between these regions.
Recently, on September 15, 2025, new Amrit Bharat Express began its inaugural journey from Saharsa Junction to Cheharta (Amritsar). The train consists of 22 coaches, including Sleeper and General Class.
