Noida Power Company Limited (NPCL) is turning timely bill payments into rewards. With the launch of ‘Urja Samman’, the first-ever loyalty programme by a private power distributor in India, consumers can now earn pizzas, movie tickets, or shopping vouchers simply for paying their electricity bills on time.
According to a report by The Times of India, the initiative was launched on Tuesday and rewards consumers for responsible energy habits, such as opting for e-bills, making online and timely payments, maintaining a unity power factor and ensuring zero internal breakdowns.
In return, customers can redeem their points for vouchers from more than 40 brands across healthcare, lifestyle, dining, entertainment, and retail. Partners include Domino’s, Subway, PVR Cinemas, Pantaloons, Reliance Trends, Westside, Bata, and several popular OTT platforms.
“Our consumers who engage in responsible practices will earn reward points that can be redeemed for vouchers from these prominent brands,” Sarnath Ganguly, Vice President (Operations), NPCL, was quoted by TOI as saying.
A company spokesperson added, “Urja Samman’ is not just a loyalty programme—it is our way of appreciating consumers who support sustainable growth. Every responsible choice contributes to building a brighter tomorrow. With this initiative, we are celebrating our consumers as true partners in creating a greener, better future for all.”
The report added that the discom supplies power to more than two lakh consumers in Greater Noida, of which 1.35 lakh are urban and nearly 65,000 are in rural areas.
To check accumulated points and redeem vouchers, consumers can log on to the NPCL website —www.noidapower.com — with their registered email ID or mobile number. Notifications about the launch to consumers across Greater Noida have already gone out via WhatsApp and email, while queries can be addressed at NPCL’s 24x7 helpline (0120-6226666).
