Nagpur woman hacks husband's WhatsApp, gets him arrested for sexually assaulting multiple women

In Nagpur, Maharashtra, a woman hacked her husband's WhatsApp account and got him arrested for sexually abusing and blackmailing multiple women.

The 24-year-old woman also claimed that her husband would often make unnatural sex demands and force her to do porn-like acts.

The woman initially went to the Pachpaoli police station to lodge a complaint against her husband citing relentless demands for porn-like activities. However, according to a Times of India report, even though police filed a cruelty case against her husband, he could not be arrested due to Supreme Court guidelines.

The wife, who suspected her husband of having multiple affairs, cloned his phone and discovered that he also blackmailed other women.

The woman reportedly found a stock of chats, photos, and videos of women in compromising positions with him.

According to the report, the accused used fake names and misled women, police said. He would lure them to places like spiritual ceremonies. His wife had also recently filed a cruelty case against him, alleging he would make unnatural sexual demands and would force her to do "porn-like acts".

Seeing her husband's chats, the wife came to know that the accused had told the women he was unmarried and demanded money from some of them. He also forced them to fulfil his sexual demands, using the videos and pictures he had recorded with them.

The accused, who ran a pan shop in Nagpur, would meet the women in hotels in nearby areas of the city, police said.

According a senior police officer, the accused's wife managed to get in touch with a few of the women and asked them to approach the police in Nagpur to file a complaint. Finally, a 19-year-old woman, who was allegedly sexually abused by the accused, turned up and agreed to file a complaint.

The survivor reported that the accused identified himself as one Sahil Sharma despite being from a different religion. She said that he hid that he was married and had a child, and promised to marry her. She also said she was in Nagpur for her studies.

"The teen was very scared, and she was counselled by our team to file the complaint and bring the accused to book. The accused had even sold her ring and taken the money from her. His wife, who brought the teen in front of the police, had revealed that he was cheating on four to five women at the same time," a senior police officer from the Pachpaoli police station said.

A case was filed against the accused for rape, extortion, blackmail, and hiding his identity, faith, and name under the relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

He was earlier granted one-day custody. Police on Monday produced the accused in court, seeking further custodial remand.
