A 51-year-old Mumbai businesswoman was allegedly forced to strip at gunpoint, assaulted, and threatened with having her photos and videos leaked if she dared to speak up.
According to a report by NDTV, the woman, in her complaint, has named Joy John Pascal Post, Managing Director and founder member of Franco-Indian Pharmaceuticals (FIPPL).
As per the report, the woman was invited by Joy John Pascal Post to the office under the pretext of a meeting. There, she was subjected to harassment and forced to remove her clothes at gunpoint.
The accused allegedly abused the woman, filmed her in the nude, and threatened to release the visuals if she revealed the incident to anyone.
The woman lodged a complaint with the Mumbai Police, naming Post and five others. A case has been registered against them on charges of sexual harassment, assault, and criminal intimidation.
Police have recorded the victim’s statement and are currently examining the involvement of all the accused.
In a separate incident reported last week on November 29 in Kolkata, a woman was allegedly dragged into a car, forced to consume alcohol, and sexually assaulted by a group of men.
Around 9 pm, the woman had been waiting for a cab she booked through an app when a car arrived with three occupants, including an acquaintance she had been speaking to for three months. The men allegedly pulled her into the vehicle, forced her to drink alcohol—suspected to have been spiked—and then assaulted her.
She was later dropped off in the Maidan area, after which the car fled. The woman was eventually rescued and taken to SSKM Hospital for treatment.
