The 29-year-old lawyer and civil judge aspirant, who went missing while travelling on the Narmada Express to celebrate Rakshabandhan with her family, has finally been traced. The young woman, identified as Archana Tiwari, had left Indore on August 5 to reach her hometown Katni. Since then, there had been no sign of her, NDTV reported.

It has now emerged that Archana had been in contact with a constable posted in Gwalior, and he is currently being questioned.

Archana had left her hostel in Indore carrying a small bag filled with rakhis, gifts, and other essentials for the festival. Her family had been waiting for her arrival in Katni. However, when the train reached Katni South station on August 6, only her bag was found in the coach.

According to the NDTV report, her brother, Divyanshu Mishra, has now confirmed that Archana is alive. He also informed that she has spoken to their mother and shared her location, and the police are expected to make a detailed statement soon. As per NDTV, a railway police team has already moved to the place where she is currently located to bring her back safely.

According to the investigation so far, Archana had boarded the Indore-Bilaspur Narmada Express on August 5 and was last in touch with her mother around 10.15 pm, when the train halted at Bhopal. After that call, her phone went silent. The abandoned bag was later found, and her last mobile signal was tracked to Rani Kamlapati station in Bhopal.

Also, the device connected to the internet at Itarsi, leading investigators to believe that she may have made an internet-based call before it switched off.

The police launched a wide search operation. Footage from 97 CCTV cameras across several railway stations was examined. Three police teams were formed, and even the forested, hilly stretch of Midghat between Budhni and Barkheda was searched using drones, sniffer dogs, and divers. The police officials also questioned her friends, fellow students, social media contacts, and even train staff such as the ticket checker, attendants, and passengers.
