The Delhi Traffic Police on Monday issued an advisory for commuters in view of the ongoing Kanwar Yatra. The left carriageway of G T Road from Keshav Chowk Roundabout to Yudhishthir Setu, ISBT will remain closed from 8 am on July 21 to 8 am on July 23.

The Delhi Traffic Police took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to issue the advisory. Emergency vehicles, including ambulances, fire brigade, and police vans, will be allowed on these roads but are advised to avoid them unless it is absolutely necessary.

Here are suggested alternate routes for affected areas:

• From SDN Marg to ISBT: Use Keshav Chowk underpass towards Maujpur or take a U-turn from Shyam Chowk via Swami Dayanand Marg or Vikas Marg.

• From Seelampur T-Point: Use Road No. 66 towards Wazirabad Road.

• From Dharampura T-Point: Take Road No. 66 up to Wazirabad or Keshav Chowk underpass.

• From Old Iron Bridge: Use Pusta Road to Kailash Nagar or Gandhi Nagar.

• From Shastri Park: Take GT Road to Road No. 66 or Keshav Chowk underpass.

• From Khajoori Chowk: Traffic will be diverted via Wazirabad Road to reach ISBT.

The Agra Canal Road stretch from Kalindi Kunj to Faridabad will also be completely closed to vehicles from July 21 at 8 am to July 23 at 8 am due to the heavy movement of Kanwar pilgrims.

The Yamuna Bridge Road in Kalindi Kunj is also expected to face intermittent closures and traffic congestion during this period, the police advisory said. The authorities have advised commuters travelling from Noida to Faridabad or Delhi to avoid both Agra Canal Road and Yamuna Bridge Road during these days.

To help ease the traffic flow, the police have suggested alternative routes. Vehicles coming from Noida can use Road Number 13 from Kalindi Kunj Junction, then turn left towards Mathura Road/Faridabad Bypass Road, and continue to their destination using this diverted path.

Commuters are urged to plan their travel in advance, follow traffic signs, and cooperate with authorities to ensure smooth and safe movement for everyone during the Kanwar Yatra.
