Holi 2025

People celebrating Holi in capital Delhi and northern states might experience light rain showers, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecast for March 14.

Where and when will it rain on Holi?

- Delhi-NCR, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan and Western Uttar Pradesh may get light rain on March 14 and March 15.

- Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand could see snowfall during this period.

- Punjab may see rain from March 12 to 14, while Haryana and Delhi can expect showers on March 13 and 14.

Why weather pattern has changed

A Western Disturbance — a weather system that brings rain and snow to North India — is currently active.

- This disturbance is affecting weather across Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand , bringing snowfall between March 9 and 14.

- Another cyclonic circulation over Rajasthan and a weather system in the Bay of Bengal are also influencing the region’s climate.

Normally, Western Disturbances weaken by March, but this year, a cyclonic system from the Mediterranean Sea is affecting India’s weather more than usual, according to Skymet Weather.
