A 25-year-old college student was found dead in an apparent suicide at his hostel in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, on Saturday. The student, identified as Krishnakant from Jharkhand, was discovered in his room along with an alleged suicide note.

Police said Krishnakant was a second-year MCA student and shared the hostel room with another student. An investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death is underway.

According to a report in NDTV, he did not attend college on Saturday and informed his roommate that he would come later. In the afternoon, his father called the roommate and urged him to hurry to their room, suggesting that Krishnakant was “about to do something."

The roommate quickly alerted other hostel students, who rushed to Krishnakant’s room. However, the room was locked from the inside. They broke down the door, found him hanging, and alerted police.

During probe, cops discovered a suicide note reading, “I give up. Please give my body and my things to my family. Sorry for the trouble."

The roommate mentioned that Krishnakant had a medical condition that caused him distress and described him as a “very good" student.
