Haryana Municipal Election Results 2025 Updates: Big jolt to Congress as BJP triumphs; wins 9 out of 10 corporations

In Manesar, where municipal elections were held for the first time, Independent candidate Inderjeet Yadav won.

She defeated her nearest BJP rival Sunder Lal by a margin of 2,293 votes.

According to the results and trends available for the mayoral posts, BJP candidates registered emphatic wins in Ambala, Faridabad, Gurugram, Hisar, Karnal, Rohtak and Sonipat, defeating their nearest Congress rivals.

The ruling party's candidates were in a comfortable lead in Yamunanagar and Panipat.

After winning the Mayor election, Parveen Joshi said, "I am aware of the difficulties and necessities of the people. There are issues of drinking water, garbage and sewage. Union Minister Krishan Pal Gurjar has given assurance that we will work together and there will be no obstacles in the implementation of schemes. People have placed their trust in me...I express my gratitude to them. I will resolve their issues one by one..."

The BJP on Wednesday swept the Haryana local polls by winning 9 out of the 10 seats, including in Gurugram and Rohtak, the stronghold of Bhupinder Hooda, one of the  senior-most state leaders of the Congress.

Independent candidate, Dr Inderjit Yadav, who was earlier with the BJP,  won the tenth seat Manesar.

BJP’s Renu Bala Gupta won Karnal seat with 83,630 votes.

Congress‘ Manoj Wadhwa, who secured 58,271 votes finished second.

BJP candidate Ram Avtar secured a decisive victory, garnered over one lakh votes.

Congress' Surajmal Kiloi trailed far behind, finishing in second place.

The BJP has secured a dominant victory in the Haryana municipal elections, winning nine out of 10 municipal corporations.

According to the latest results, BJP candidates emerged victorious in Panipat, Gurugram, Faridabad, Ambala, Yamunanagar, Hisar, Karnal, Rohtak, and Sonipat.

The only exception was Manesar, where an Independent candidate claimed victory.

BJP candidate Raj Rani registered a massive victory in the Gurugram mayoral election, defeating Congress' Seema Pahuja by a staggering margin of 1,79,485 votes, according to the State Election Commission.

BJP candidate Praveen Popli secured a decisive victory in the Hisar mayoral election.

Popli won by a significant margin of 64,456 votes, further strengthening the BJP’s dominance in the Haryana municipal elections.

In a decisive win, BJP candidate Ram Avtar Valmiki won the Rohtak mayoral election by a margin of 45,198 votes, defeating Congress candidate Surajmal Kiloi.

In a surprising turn, Independent candidate Dr. Inderjit Yadav has won the Manesar Mayor election, defeating BJP's Sundar Lal by 2,235 votes. This marks the only mayoral seat in Haryana where the BJP failed to secure a victory in the ongoing municipal elections

BJP’s Raj Rani has surged ahead in the Gurugram mayoral election, leading by over 95,000 votes against Congress candidate Seema Pahuja after the fifth round of counting.

BJP is leading in 9 out of 10 municipal corporations across Haryana, while Congress is trailing in all 10.

BJP candidate Shailja Sachdeva secured victory in the Ambala mayor by-election, winning by a margin of 20,487 votes.

BJP's mayoral candidate from Karnal, Renu Bala Gupta, expressed gratitude to Chief Minister and Manohar Lal Khattar, saying, "I am thankful to the CM and Manohar (Lal Khattar) ji. I am seeking God's blessings and am hopeful that BJP will receive a strong mandate."

Her remarks came after visiting the ancient Mansa Devi Temple as the counting of votes began.

Sirsa DSP Vikas Krishan Yadav stated, "Security has been heightened as the vote counting is underway. Over 600 officials have been deployed, and the second round of counting is currently in progress."

The elections were conducted to elect mayors, presidents, and ward members across seven municipal corporations, municipal councils, and municipal committees in the state.

The Panipat Municipal Corporation elections were held separately on March 9.
