A villager from Bhind district of Madhya Pradesh raised a complaint on the Chief Minister’s Helpline over receiving only one laddoo instead of two during the Independence Day celebrations, NDTV reported.
The incident took place at the Gram Panchayat Bhawan, where local residents had gathered for the flag-hoisting ceremony. After the event, sweets were distributed among the attendees as part of the celebrations. When it was villager Kamlesh Khushwaha’s turn, he was given a single laddoo. However, he insisted that he should get two, as was the general expectation. When his request was turned down, Khushwaha walked outside the Panchayat building and immediately dialed the CM Helpline to lodge a formal complaint.
In his complaint, he stated that the Panchayat had failed to distribute sweets properly after the flag-hoisting ceremony and urged that the matter be looked into. Confirming the incident, Panchayat Secretary Ravindra Srivastava said, “The villager was standing on the road outside. The peon gave him one laddu, but he insisted on two. When refused, he called the CM helpline.”
"Kushwaha is in the habit of doing such things. He has so far filed 107 complaints with the CM Helpline on various issues," Shrivastava was quoted by TOI as saying.
As per the report, the complaint left the Panchayat embarrassed. In an attempt to control the situation, the Panchayat has decided to buy one kilogram of laddoos from the market and offer it to Khushwaha as an apology and a goodwill gesture.
This is not the first time that Bhind has witnessed such odd complaints on the CM Helpline. Back in January 2020, another villager had reported a faulty hand pump. In response, the then Executive Engineer of the Public Health Engineering Department, PR Goyal, submitted a bizarre and offensive reply, calling the complainant ‘mad’ and even making derogatory remarks about his family. The remarks had created an uproar, following which action was taken against the officer. He later claimed his login ID had been misused.
