The footage shows the exchange rapidly turning violent. According to the report, the resident and a member of the maintenance team first argued and were seen shouting at one another; the resident then pushed the staff member, who responded with a punch to the face. The assault continued as other staff intervened and the scuffle resumed after the two were initially separated.
Police sources cited by NDTV said that one person has been taken into custody for questioning in connection with the incident. Authorities are investigating the events shown in the CCTV footage.
Video of the episode has been shared widely on social media. An X post that circulated the clip drew immediate attention online, prompting discussion and demands for action from residents and netizens.
The episode in Ghaziabad follows a similar case in late June, when residents of a high-rise in Greater Noida’s Ecovillage-1 were assaulted after complaining about a prolonged power cut. Security guards and maintenance staff were seen punching, kicking and hitting residents with sticks in videos that went viral. Police have reportedly arrested several accused in that case.
