A blast at a firecracker manufacturing and packaging unit near a village in Punjab's Sri Muktsar Sahib district resulted in the deaths of five migrant laborers, while several others were injured, according to police reports.

The explosion took place in a two-story factory located on the Singhawali-Kotli road in Sri Muktsar Sahib. Jaspal Singh, the Deputy Superintendent of Police for the Lambi area, provided this information over tPunjab, firecracker he phone.

The cause of the blast is currently under investigation, the DSP stated.

A team from the local police and administration quickly arrived at the scene after receiving information about the explosion. Those who were injured were taken to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Bathinda.

On Wednesday, a couple and their two children suffered serious burn injuries due to a Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) leak that caused an explosion and fire at their home in Pune. The family lived in a small room in the Wadkar Mala locality, according to an official.

Preliminary reports indicate that there was a gas leak caused by a loose stove knob. When the woman attempted to light the stove with a lighter in the morning, it triggered the explosion.
