A minor fire broke out on Monday at the Park Hyatt hotel in Banajara Hills Hyderabad, where the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) IPL 2025 cricket team was staying.

Officials believe the fire started due to a short circuit in the electrical wiring.

The fire sparked around 8:45 am in the steam room of a spa on the first floor of the hotel, said the fire department official.

It was quickly doused and no one was injured in the incident, they said.

"It was a minor fire and a fire engine was rushed to spot and the fire was brought under control quickly," a police official at Banjara Hills Police Station said.

The fire, which is believed to have been caused by a short circuit in the electrical wiring, was brought under control within two hours, despite thick smoke spreading through the building.

Guests and hotel staff were safely evacuated. While there was some panic, most guests were able to make their way to the ground floor on their own before firefighters arrived.

Fire tenders were dispatched from the Jubilee Hills fire station, and the flames was completely put out by 11am.

Some players of SRH who were staying in another tower of the hotel were not in the hotel when the blaze was reported and other players who were there checked out later, the officials added.
