The Delhi Traffic Police has clarified that only those with a valid online token or appointment will be permitted entry to the Lok Adalat. The process is simple but time-sensitive, as tokens are limited and distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. According to the official announcement, a total of 1.8 lakh tokens or notices are available, with 60,000 tokens being issued per day.
To book a token, individuals must visit the official Delhi Traffic Police portal Delhi traffic challans:, which became operational from 10 am today. The site requires users to enter essential details such as vehicle number, chassis number, or engine number. After submitting these details and completing a captcha, any pending notices associated with the vehicle will be displayed. Users can then select their preferred court, court number and time slot for their Lok Adalat appearance on May 10.
The Delhi Traffic Police took to their official X (formerly Twitter) account to inform the public about the token distribution and emphasise the importance of timely registration, as only those with tokens will be eligible to settle their challans at the Lok Adalat.
This initiative is part of the government’s ongoing efforts to facilitate citizens in clearing old traffic fines efficiently and affordably. Those who have been postponing the payment of their traffic challans now have a valuable chance to resolve them under more favourable terms, but swift action is advised due to the limited number of tokens available.
