A 65-year-old man with a criminal record spanning more than four decades has been arrested in connection with a double murder that shook northwest Delhi’s Adarsh Nagar last month, police confirmed on Sunday.

According to a PTI report, the accused has been identified as Nand Kishore alias Thuria, a native of Sikar in Rajasthan and was apprehended after a 14-day manhunt by the Special Staff of the North-West District Police. Kishore, who has previously faced charges including attempted murder, theft and violations under the Arms Act, was tracked down to his hideout in Model Town following a meticulous review of CCTV footage and technical surveillance.

The incident occurred late on the night of April 21, near the busy Parmanand Hospital traffic signal close to Azadpur Sabzi Mandi. According to police, Kishore was on his motorcycle when it brushed against a car occupied by Kamal (40), Amzad (42) and Abid (26). What began as a minor collision quickly escalated into a heated argument. Police say that after reportedly being abused by the men in the car, Kishore retaliated violently, stabbing all three.

Abid, despite suffering injuries, managed to drive Kamal and Amzad to Babu Jagjivan Ram Memorial (BJRM) Hospital. Tragically, both Kamal and Amzad were declared dead on arrival, while Abid is currently recovering from a stab wound to his right hand.

The case was registered at Adarsh Nagar police station under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and a dedicated team was formed to investigate. For nearly two weeks, officers tracked Kishore’s movements, eventually confirming his presence in Model Town. He was arrested on Saturday night after a raid and during interrogation, Kishore confessed to his involvement in the murders, reportedly citing provocation after being abused by the victims.

Police records reveal Kishore’s long history of criminal activity, with cases dating back over 40 years. His prior offences include attempted murder, theft and arms violations, mostly registered at Subzi Mandi Police Station. Authorities are also searching for another suspect believed to have been involved in the attack, who remains at large.
