Delhi has been on heightened alert following the deadly car blast near the Red Fort on Monday evening. The blast occurred near the Red Fort Metro Station, prompting immediate security crackdowns across the capital.

What’s open and what’s closed in Delhi today

Lal Quila Metro Station remains closed for security reasons and will continue to be shut today with heightened surveillance around the area. The Red Fort is closed to visitors until at least Thursday as investigations and security tightening take precedence.

Several roads around the Red Fort and adjacent key areas have restricted vehicle access, with traffic diversions in place. Notably, no vehicles are allowed on Netaji Subhash Marg from Charter Rail Kat to Subhash Marg cut.

Key tourist spots near the blast site are closed temporarily to ensure public safety and to facilitate further investigations.

Transport services

All other Delhi Metro stations are operational and running as usual, but under high alert with intensified security checks. Public transport, including buses and local trains, also continue to operate without interruption across the city.

All the railway stations in Delhi-NCR are functioning, though with increased security personnel, bomb disposal teams, and regular patrols.

Indira Gandhi International Airport has been kept on high alert, but flights are operating with passengers advised to check schedules due to unrelated maintenance work.

CM Rekha Gupta announces ₹10L ex gratia to families of victims

The Delhi government and police have assured the public that all necessary medical facilities are being provided promptly to the injured. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has announced that an ex gratia amount of Rs 10 lakh will be given to the families of those who lost their lives in the blast. Those who have been permanently disabled will receive Rs 5 lakh, while those who suffered serious injuries will get Rs 2 lakh.

Security forces are conducting intensive checks, and the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has taken over the probe, treating the blast as a terror attack with suspicions of an accidental detonation of explosives while being transported.
