Caught on camera: Blinkit delivery man urinates inside lift in Mumbai’s Virar, case registered

A case has been registered against a delivery executive from quick-commerce platform Blinkit for allegedly urinating in the lift of a residential building in Palghar district.

The incident, captured in the building's CCTV camera, occurred at the CD Gurudev Building in Mumbai's Virar West.

In the CCTV footage, the delivery agent can be seen entering the lift with a parcel in his left hand. As seen in video, it seems like the accused is aware of the presence of the CCTV camera. He turns his back to the camera unzips his pants, and urinates on the lift's front gate.

The incident reportedly took place on Friday afternoon last week and came to light after residents noticed an unpleasant smell and unhygienic conditions inside the lift.

The residents decided to check the CCTV footage and discovered a Blinkit deliveryman committing the act.

Outraged by the discovery, several residents approached the nearest Blinkit office to confront the accused. He was allegedly assaulted during the confrontation before being handed over to the police, reported News18.

A formal complaint has since been filed at the Bolinj Police Station in Virar West. Police officials have confirmed the receipt of the complaint and stated that an investigation is underway.

Blinkit has not yet released an official statement on the incident. However, the platform is expected to initiate internal action against the individual involved.
