Panic gripped a private school in Anekal on Tuesday morning after a sudden explosion inside the boys’ toilet sent students and teachers rushing out in fear.

The blast occurred at Brainy Stars International School in Bingipura, leading to chaos across the campus as it came just a day after the deadly explosion near Red Fort in New Delhi.

The Bannerghatta police quickly reached the spot and inspected the scene. They also questioned the school authorities. CCTV footage was reviewed to trace those responsible. Classes were suspended for the day as anxious parents gathered outside the school to take their children home.

After an initial investigation, police confirmed that the explosion was caused by ‘Lakshmi crackers’, a type of firecracker commonly used during Diwali.

Officers identified a few students who had set off the crackers inside the washroom as part of a prank. While no one was injured, police warned that such acts could have serious consequences.

As per the officials, the school management is counselling the students involved and will strengthen campus safety to prevent any repeat of the incident.

Meanwhile, Bengaluru City Police Commissioner Seemant Kumar Singh has announced a citywide high alert following the Delhi blast. Security has been tightened at airports, railway stations, metro stops, malls, and other public places.

“All DCPs and ACPs have been instructed to enforce nakabandis, check vehicles, and stay alert for any suspicious activity,” Singh said. He urged citizens to remain calm, avoid spreading rumours, and report any unusual behaviour to the police immediately.
