Yet, on Thursday morning, five men entered the hospital unchallenged, walked straight to the ICU, and opened fire. Mishra did not survive. The CCTV footage, widely circulated on social media within hours, shows Tauseef Badshah leading the group, a pistol visible in his right hand. (Photo: X)
Unlike his accomplices, who fled after the shooting, Badshah walked out with the same unhurried stride, seemingly unfazed. Two photos later surfaced, adding to the audacity of the crime. In one, Badshah is seen riding pillion on a motorcycle, pistol raised in the air. Another attacker appears to celebrate, hands lifted in triumph. (Photo: X)

Police sources cited by NDTV said that Badshah hails from Patna’s Phulwari Sharif. His father runs a hardware business, his mother is a teacher, and he attended the well-known Saint Karen’s School. Despite this seemingly ordinary background, Badshah had already been named in at least one case under the Arms Act. (Photo: X)

Investigators claim he had recently ventured into contract killings, accepting payments to carry out murders or arrange logistics for such operations. The killing, police say, stems from a bitter rivalry between Mishra and another gangster, Sheru. Once allies, the two reportedly fell out in Bhagalpur jail. Mishra later operated independently but continued using the "Sheru Gang" name, a move that may have sealed his fate. (Photo: X)
