Five expressways are set for completion by 2030 in Rajasthan.

The Beawar-Bharatpur Greenfield Expressway in Rajasthan has officially been approved, which is poised to reduce travel time and improve connectivity between the two cities. The project has now cleared the approval for its Detailed Project Report (DPR) after it was announced in the 2024 state budget.

Survey work for the expressway has commenced, with the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) tasked with completing it within the next 18 months. After the completion of the survey, the budget allocation for the project will be finalised, and the construction work will begin. Rajasthan government in this year's budget announced multiple road projects including state highways, bypass roads, flyovers, elevated roads, ROB, RUB, bridge construction, repair and upgradation of roads.

The new greenfield expressway will cover a total distance of 342 km and is designed to improve traffic flow while cutting down travel time. The government has planned to acquire 3,175 hectares of land for the construction of this project.

The Beawar-Bharatpur Expressway will begin at NH-58 in Beawar and connect to NH-21 in Bharatpur. The route will pass through important towns such as Gulabpura, Kekri, Todaraisingh, Uniara, Tonk, and Niwai.

Currently, the journey between Beawar and Bharatpur spans approximately 370 km, taking around 7 to 8 hours. Once the expressway is completed, travel time is expected to be significantly reduced. The expressway will bypass densely populated areas and feature fewer turns, enabling vehicles to travel at higher speeds and enhancing overall travel efficiency.

The Beawar-Bharatpur Expressway is a key component of Rajasthan's broader infrastructure vision under the state's 'Vision 2047' plan. In the recent state budget, the government announced the construction of nine greenfield expressways across Rajasthan, covering a total of approximately 2,756 km. The aim is to complete five of these expressways by 2030, spanning 1,361 km.

The five expressways set for completion by 2030 include:

· Jaipur-Jodhpur-Pachpadra Expressway

· Kotputli-Kishangarh Expressway

· Jaipur-Bhilwara Expressway

· Bikaner-Kotputli Expressway

· Beawar-Bharatpur Expressway
