At least five passengers were killed and two other were seriously injured after a helicopter crash near Gangnani in Uttarkashi district on Thursday.
Administration and relief teams are present at the helicopter crash site, Garhwal Divisional Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey told ANI.
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami shared the news on social media and expressed condolences to the family of dead. He wrote, "May God grant peace to the souls of those who died in the accident and give strength to the bereaved families to bear this immense loss."
He also said that has instructed the administration to provide all possible help to the injured and investigate the accident.
The helicopter was flying from Dehradun to Harsil helipad when it crashed near Gangnani.
