Vande Bharat

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Varanasi on November 8 and flag off four new Vande Bharat Express trains, aimed at improving connectivity, cutting down travel time, and boosting regional development.

The launch of the new trains will enhance travel between major cities and religious destinations across India.

Banaras-Khajuraho Vande Bharat

The Banaras-Khajuraho Vande Bharat will provide direct connectivity between key cultural and spiritual centres, Varanasi, Prayagraj, Chitrakoot, and Khajuraho. This new route will reduce the travel time by nearly two hours and forty minutes compared to the special trains currently operating.

It will also make pilgrimages to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Khajuraho faster and more convenient, improving the travel experience for both tourists and devotees.

Lucknow-Saharanpur Vande Bharat

The Lucknow-Saharanpur Vande Bharat will cover the journey in around seven hours and 45 minutes, saving close to an hour of travel time. It will serve passengers from Lucknow, Sitapur, Shahjahanpur, Bareilly, Moradabad, Bijnor, and Saharanpur, while also making it easier to reach the holy city of Haridwar via Roorkee.

This route will contribute to regional development across central and western Uttar Pradesh.

Firozpur-Delhi Vande Bharat

The Firozpur-Delhi Vande Bharat will be the fastest train on this route, covering the distance in just six hours and 40 minutes. The new service will connect Delhi with key Punjab cities such as Firozpur, Bathinda, and Patiala, improving access to the national capital.

According to the officials, the train is expected to boost trade, tourism, and job opportunities in the border regions while improving integration with India’s major markets.

Ernakulam-Bengaluru Vande Bharat

In the south, the Ernakulam–Bengaluru Vande Bharat will cut travel time by more than two hours, completing the trip in eight hours and forty minutes. This route will link important IT and commercial hubs.

The route will promote greater economic activity and tourism between Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka, supporting regional growth and collaboration.
