Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday invoked the power of Goddess Lakshmi ahead of the Budget session, saying that he prays before her to shower the poor and middle class with blessings.
"At the beginning of Budget Session today, I bow before Goddess of prosperity - Maa Lakshmi . I pray Maa Laxmi to bless the poor and middle-class people of the country," PM Modi said outside Parliament complex before the Budget session and tabling of the Economic Survey.
He also recited the Sanskrit prayer 'Siddhi Buddhi Prade Devi', dedicated to Goddess Lakshi.
"Siddhi Buddhi Prade Devi, Bhukti Mukti Pra’dayini Mantra Murte Sada Devi, Maha Lakshmi Namo’stute," PM Modi said.
The prayer translates to: "Oh Goddess who bestows intelligence and success, bestower of worldly enjoyment and liberation as well, with the mantra always as thy form, Maha Lakshmi, we bow to thee."
PM Modi expressed confidence that the Budget session will infuse new confidence, energy in attaining our goal of 'Viksit Bharat'.
"Innovation, inclusion, investment basis of our roadmap for economic activities," he said.
