'Band-aid for bullet wounds': Rahul Gandhi attacks Centre over Budget 2025

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi attacked the Centre on Saturday over Budget 2025 noting that the "government is bankrupt of ideas."

"A band-aid for bullet wounds! Amid global uncertainty, solving our economic crisis demanded a paradigm shift. But this government is bankrupt of ideas," the Leader of Opposition of Lok Sabha.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Saturday presented the Union Budget 2025 in Parliament. This was FM Sitharaman’s eighth consecutive Budget presentation.

The Congress MP on Friday launched a sharp attack on Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman over the preparation of the Union Budget, questioning the alleged lack of representation for the marginalised communities in the decision-making process.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Sitharaman for her "people-centric" financial papers. The FM announced a big tax relief for the middle class today by proposing no income tax for individuals who earn up to Rs 12 lakh.
