Banks in several states will remain shut on Wednesday, August 27, in observance of Ganesh Chaturthi. As per the Reserve Bank of India’s holiday schedule, branches in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka (Bengaluru), Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Goa and Andhra Pradesh will not be operating.
While physical branches will stay closed, customers can continue to carry out routine transactions through ATMs, mobile banking, internet banking and digital payment apps. Services that require visiting a branch in person — such as large cash deposits, demand draft issuance, or certain account settlement procedures — will remain unavailable.
