SML Isuzu sales accelerate over 21% in May on boom in passenger, cargo vehicles

The company , on May 20, reported a 16.53% surge in net sales, amounting to Rs. 679.60 crore in March-ended quarter against Rs 583.22 crore in March 2023. Net profit surged by 95.3% to Rs 52.32 crore from Rs 26.79 crore YoY.

Cargo vehicle sales witnessed an uptick of 29.3%

SML Isuzu sales accelerated 21.2 percent to reach 1,563 units in May 2024 from 1,290 units a year back, driven primarily by a significant rise in both passenger and cargo vehicles.

While passenger vehicle sales surged 19.3 percent to 1,245 units in May from 1,044 units last year, cargo vehicle sales zoomed 29.3 percent to 318 units from 246 units.

The company, on May 20, reported a 16.53 percent surge in net sales, amounting to Rs 679.60 crore in the quarter ended in March, as against Rs 583.22 crore last year. Its net profit surged 95.3 percent to Rs 52.32 crore from Rs 26.79 crore on-year.

The company's earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) increased to Rs 73.22 crore, up 63.11 percent from Rs 44.89 crore on a yearly basis, while earnings per share (EPS) surged to Rs 36.14 in March 2024 from Rs 18.52 in a year ago.
