Mahindra's electric origin SUVs, the XEV 9e and the BE 6, have crossed the sales milestone of 30,000 units in seven months of the start of customer deliveries, averaging one vehicle sold every 10 minutes. The company said the volume marks one of the fastest scale-ups recorded by any electric SUV line in India, underlining the strong market response to its new electric vehicle (EV) portfolio.

The two models, introduced in November 2024, have completed their first year in the market. Mahindra said cumulative sales have not only exceeded internal forecasts but have helped the electric origin range secure the number one revenue market share in H1 FY26, contributing over Rs 8,000 crore in revenue. The company added that 80% of buyers for the XEV 9e and the BE 6 are first-time Mahindra customers, signalling a pronounced shift in the brand's buyer profile. Luxury intenders, young urban buyers, tech-forward families and design-focused customers form a significant portion of this base.

Mahindra said usage patterns indicate that these EVs have transitioned from secondary to primary vehicles for most owners. Close to 65% of electric origin SUVs are driven every working day. More than 1,000 units have already crossed 20,000km, with some surpassing the 50,000km mark within seven months. The company added that 70% of the fleet covers over 1,000km a month, while 10% cross the 3,000km threshold monthly. Around 60% of the SUVs deliver more than 500km of city-use range.

The vehicles have undergone regular long-distance usage as well. Mahindra said 30% of owners have completed single-day trips of 400km and some have taken the SUVs across 10 states in a single journey. The company highlighted performance across temperatures ranging from 4°C to 53°C, from the Himalayan region to the Thar desert, as evidence of the vehicles' suitability to Indian operating conditions.
