JSW MG Motor India will launch the M9 electric MPV in the country before the Cyberster electric sports car. To be offered via the carmaker's new luxury sales channel, MG Select, both models can be pre-reserved for a token amount of Rs 51,000.
The M9 is referred to as 'Presidential Limousine' by MG. It is one of the biggest luxury MPVs to arrive in India.
Being an electric vehicle (EV), range is an important aspect of the M9. According to the company, the M9 employs a 90 kWh nickel manganese cobalt (NMC) battery, which is good for a claimed range of nearly 550 km on a single full charge.

The battery powers a 241 PS/350 Nm motor, which is mounted on the front axle. There is no all-wheel-drive capability.
The M9's battery can be fully juiced up in 1 hour and 30 minutes using a 160 kW DC fast charger. With an 11 kW AC charger, a 0-100% charge can be achieved in around 10 hours.

The front of the electric MPV boasts LED headlights and LED DRLs. The trapezoidal mesh grille adds a hint of character to the front fascia. The vehicle has integrated taillights at the rear. It drives on 19-inch self-sealing tyres. The electric sliding doors add to the premium quotient.
The cabin of the M9 is a luxurious space to be in. The Cognac Brown-finished interior with ample leather usage is sure to attract a lot of buyers, who will also be attracted by premium features like second-row ottoman seats with eight massage modes, three-zone climate control, and panoramic sunroof. Adding a more premium feel are touchscreen armrests on the ottoman seats.

We expect the MG M9 price in India to be around Rs 65 lakh (ex-showroom). At present, the MG M9 does not have a direct rival in the EV space. However, the Kia Carnival (diesel), priced at Rs 63.91 lakh (ex-showroom), is likely to be a challenger, if we consider the price.
MG also offers mass-market EV models like the Comet, ZS and Windsor.
