ChatGPT maker OpenAI’s chief executive officer Sam Altman believes his child won’t probably attend college. And Altman’s contribution to the development of ChatGPT and artificial intelligence might play a key role in that.
The CEO of the hottest AI firm in the world suggested that education won’t be the same in the next few years and the growth in the tech will lead to its evolution.
Altman was speaking on a podcast “This Past Weekend”, hosted by comedian Theo Von.
The OpenAI chief said that education “will feel very different” after a few years and the coming generations “won’t know a world without AI”. In a scary prediction, Altman said the world will soon become a place where humans will never be smarter than AI and products and services will always remain “superior” to the people.
Moreover, Altman said the “dopamine hit” from the short-form video is a worry for children and their development. However, Altman is more worried about the older generation, who may not be well-versed with the latest technology.
Altman explained that the usually people who grow up with newer technologies don’t have much difficulty in adapting to new developments. However, that’s not the case if you are a 50-year-old person trying to learn to do things in a very different way, Altman said, adding that he himself is “scared of AI”.
