Beginning from the 18th of November, 2011, to the 20th of November, 2011, Mumbai will play host to the first ever WikiConference to take place in the country. The event, which will be hosted by the Mumbai Wikipedia Community and Wikimedia Chapter, India will see Jimmy Wales, the man himself who's the founder, open-source evangelist and Chairman Emeritus of Wikimedia foundation make a touchdown! In an official announcement it has been confirmed that the three-day long event will be all about issues that relate to India on Wikipedia, projects carried out by Wikipedia in English and Indic languages, looking out at possible partnerships and collaborations, and the role of WikiMedia in editing these, either in India or elsewhere in the world. Click here for full story
