The 15 km stretch from Bangalore Central to Kengeri NICE Road Junction is known as Mysore Road. It is a part of State Highway 17 which connects Bangalore and Mysore (149 km). Located towards south west Bangalore, Mysore Road passes through prominent localities such as Dodpete, Gori Palya, Guddadahalli, Avalahalli, Nayandahalli, Bangalore University, Kenchenhalli, Kengeri, Banashankari and Rajarajeshwari Nagar.
Accessibility:
Mysore Road in Bangalore has witnessed decent real estate activity over the last 3-4 years. Like other stretches across the city, Mysore Road covers massive ground –going from the outskirts of Chamrajpet right up to Nayanadanahalli and further down towards Kengeri. Phase 1 of Namma Metro’s Purple Line will have a station at Mysore Road and this will connect the locality with other parts of the Bangalore. A broad gauge railway line runs parallel to Mysore Road and has stations at Nayandahalli, Gnanabarathi Halt and Kengeri. The area is well served by buses, taxis and auto rickshaws. Major roads like Tank Bund Road, Pipeline Road, Chord Road, Outer Ring Road, Bangalore University Road, Kenchena Halli Road, Dr. Vishnuvarthan Road and NICE Ring Road are the roads which pass through or connect to the Mysore Road. The Purple Line will be extended from Mysore Road to Kengeri.

A part of the famous Bangalore University lies here. The locality has a number of educational institutions like international schools and schools affiliated to various boards of education like Orchids The International School, Shree Swaminarayan Gurukul International School, Tattva School etc. The area has z number of famous institutes like R.V. College Of Engineering, Bangalore Institute of Management Studies (BIMS) and Indian Statistical Institute.

The famous Wonderla Amusement Park is located here. Theatres and multiplexes like Gopalan Cinemas, Vijay Theatre, Nalanda theatre etc. are found here. Irido 6D theatre is present here.

Famous multi specialty, super specialty and general hospitals like Victoria Hospital, Indus Westside Hospital, Brookefield Hospital and Sanjeevani Hospitals are present here. The locality has a number of other hospitals, clinics and pharmacies.
Places to worship:
Panchamukha Ganesha Temple, Gali Anjaneya Temple, St Peter & Paul Church, Qudaadaad Masjid and Masjid – E – Taha are some of the places of worship located here.
