Rahul Yadav, former CEO of Housing.com who was fired by his own board has been hired as chief product and technology officer at Mumbai-based real estate venture Anarock Property Consultants.
Anarock was launched last month by Anuj Puri, former Chairman and Country Head of Jones Lang Lasalle in India.
Yadav earlier worked with real estate builder Lodha Group as an adviser after his second startup, Intelligent Interfaces, to make governance effective by utilizing data and visualization fizzled out.
"This appointment is in line with Anarock's highly technology-driven orientation and business model for its residential advisory services," said Anuj Puri, chairman, Anarock Property Consultants.
Puri said that he intends to emulate the success of e-commerce for consumer durables and services in the real estate sector and Yadav's experience in harnessing the consumer housing market at via technology will add the key element.
"Indian residential buyers and investors will not embrace an e-commerce model of property purchase unless they get a seamless experience from online selection to offline advisory and transaction closure," Puri added.
“Given my product and technology background, I am fascinated by the highly tech-driven approach that Anarock is adopting for its residential real estate business, and I already feel very much at home here,” said Rahul Yadav.
Yadav was fired from Housing in July 2015 after Housing.com’s board "unanimously agreed to bring Yadav's tenure to a close with reference to his behaviour towards investors, ecosystem and the media."
