Kingfisher pays second installment to I-T dept: Sources

The loss-laden airlines had paid Rs 44 crore last month as its first installment to the Income Tax department. Overall, the airline has outstanding dues of Rs 349 crore.

Kingfisher Airlines (KFA) has paid its second installment of Rs 9 crore on April 7  towards pending income tax dues, say CNBC-TV18 sources. The loss-laden airlines had paid Rs 44 crore last month as its first installment to the Income Tax department. Overall, the airline has outstanding dues of Rs 349 crore.

Since November, the Service and Income-Tax departments have frozen as many as 40 bank accounts of the airline for non-payment of dues.

Meanwhile, shares of KFA were down 4.32% to Rs 17.70 at 11.59 hours
