US President Donald Trump has confirmed that he has signed a bill directing his administration to make public the documents related to late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Trump, who had earlier opposed the proposal but reversed his stance as it gained momentum in Congress, announced on Truth Social that he had "JUST SIGNED THE BILL TO RELEASE THE EPSTEIN FILES."
Trump has also used the moment to criticise Democrats, accusing them of having ties to “democrat” Jeffrey Epstein. He singled out several figures, naming “Bill Clinton (who traveled on his plane 26 times), Larry Summers (who just resigned from many Boards, including Harvard), Sleazebag Political Activist Reid Hoffman, Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (who asked Epstein to donate to his Campaign AFTER Epstein was charged), Democrat Congresswoman Stacey Plasket.”
He also criticised the Biden administration for not releasing the Epstein files and said they “nor did they ever even speak about him.”
The move comes after the US Congress passed a measure directing the Justice Department to make its records on Epstein public.
The Senate forwarded the bill to President Donald Trump for his signature one day after the House of Representatives approved it in a 427–1 vote.
