Reddit faced a widespread outage on November 4, 2025, affecting users across multiple regions, including India, the United States, and Europe. According to Downdetector, reports of disruptions began around 5:30 PM (IST) and peaked shortly after 5:44 PM, with over 20,000 problem reports logged within minutes.Key problems faced by users
As per Downdetector data, 64 percent of the complaints came from users facing issues with the Reddit mobile app, while 29 percent reported that the website was either slow or completely inaccessible. Around 7 percent of users experienced server connection failures, preventing them from logging in or loading posts.
Many users took to X (formerly Twitter) to confirm the outage, reporting that their Reddit feeds failed to refresh, comment sections were not loading, and posts appeared blank. Some also saw error notifications like “Service unavailable” or “Try again later.”
The outage appears to have affected Reddit’s services across several countries simultaneously. Reports on Downdetector showed spikes in outage activity from major cities including New Delhi, New York, London, and Toronto. Both desktop and mobile platforms were impacted, leaving users unable to browse subreddits or interact with posts.
This is one of Reddit’s more significant service interruptions in recent months, given the sudden surge in global user reports. The downtime disrupted both casual browsing and ongoing community discussions across multiple subreddits.
No official response yet
As of now, Reddit has not issued an official statement regarding the cause of the outage. The company’s status page and social media channels remain silent on the issue.
